Sam has been shooting people and places for over 20 years, so he needed
a site that could show off some of his stock images
as well as give prospective clients a good idea of his style of shooting.
He wanted a site that would
compliment the work, and look great within an ultra-functional
framework.
A lot of creative professionals get sucked into overly designed,
counter-intuitive, bandwidth hogging flash sites. But not Sam, he’s
been in business long enough to know that a portfolio site should be
about the work. About showing the images well, organizing
the site so busy art directors, creative
directors, and photo editors can get in quickly, find
what they want, and get what they need.
The final design is a joy to use,
the little dropdown menus show the
various categories and sub-categories of work and the
navigation by thumbnail images within pages is the natural, intuitive
way to go.
